職業：JAZZジャーナリスト、整形外科医、DJ

ニューヨーク大学の大学院在学中にアート・ブレーキーやマルサリス兄弟など数多くのミュージシャンと知り合う。帰国後、JAZZを中心に約3000本のライナーノーツを手がけると共にJAZZ関連の著書を多数出版。ブルーノートの完全コレクターとしても有名。その他、マイルス・デイヴィスやブルーノートの創始者アルフレッド・ライオンの来日時の主治医を勤めるなど、現役の整形外科医としても第一線で活躍中。

2023-10-16 Francis Rai Japan Tour

忙中閑あり。アレンジの面白さがやっとわかってきたので、まさにドンピシャのコンサート。半世紀前に胸を高鳴らせたクロード・ルルーシュまで登場するとは。それにしても音の紡ぎ方の巧さに感動。泣きそうなくらいよかった。 Busy but quiet. The concert was just the right don't-miss, as I finally found the arrangement interesting. I had no idea that even Claude Lelouch, who made my heart pound half a century ago, would appear. I was still impressed by the skillful way of spinning the sound. It was so good that I almost cried.
