Hello from Chicago. Winter has finally arrived!. There are not many work weeks left in 2005 so, the mad rush to get orders into manufacturers in on. Most businesses here in the US taper down towards the end of year which is great time the plan for the coming year. Right now, we're formatting the upcoming "The Bells" 10 anniversary project. For those of you not familiar with this track. "The Bells" was made back in 1994 and offically released in 1996. It was created as part of a special interest I had at the time to only make certain music for me to exclusively play. This interest eventually resulted in the label "Purpose Maker". Though The Bells" never really achieved to have "Bang Success" (meaning, everybody, everywhere plays the track at the sametime), it has steadily become one of most played and thus, one of the most listened to tracks in Electronic Music. It always works, no matter what. What we configuring is a dual disc (1 side: DVD and the other, CD). A video was created for "The Bells" in 1998 and I made remixes of that video in earlier this year.

We've started the "The Bells" tour preperations for France and Spain. Because this project consist of mostly video, we are planning on using alot of video applications in these tours. It should be very graphic and colorful. Most of the music I'll play will be from the Purpose Maker catalogue plus alot of unreleased material that was never officially released. Purpose Maker label come back in full motion (?) -- maybe. In these tours, we'll be testing the waters.

Recently, DJ/Artist Steve Bicknell asked me "What is it these days about the number 10" (meaning 10th anniversary). Along with the maturity of "The Bells", the LP "Waveform Transmission" Vol. 1 turns 15! - can you believe this? Tresor Records/Berlin is planning a similar project consisting of interviews, remastered version, etc. Should be a great project.

We have numerous projects on the drawing board right now that we're reviewing. We'll spend time over the holidays season laying them out to see what works best. The Axis Site (www.axisrecords.com) will be undergoing a huge rennovation. We figured after 6 years, it's time to catch up with technology!. They'll be very interesting new features that we're sure you'll all enjoy.

シカゴからこんにちわ。とうとう冬がやってきた！　2005年で仕事ができる週も少なくなってきて、工場などへのオーダー発注などすごい勢い。アメリカのほとんどのビジネスはどんどん年末にかけて仕事を減らしていくので、来年の計画を立てるにはベストな時なんだ。今は"The Bells"10周年企画を具体化しているところだ。この曲になじみのない人たちに説明すると、The Bellsは1994年に作られて、1996年にオフィシャルにリリースされた。僕だけがプレイするために特別に創られた曲のうちのひとつだった。この趣向がのちにレーベル、パーパス・メーカーになる。The Bellsは決して「大成功」（つまり、みんな、どこでも、いつでもこの曲がかかっている）にいたったわけではないけれど、最もプレイされる曲のひとつには確実になり、つまりはエレクトロニック・ミュージックにおいて最も聴かれる曲になったと思う。どんな状況でもかならずうまくいく曲だ。今回両面ディスク（片面がＤＶＤでもう片面がＣＤ）になる予定。1998年に作られたThe Bellsのビデオと、今年初めに僕がそれをもとに創ったリミックスを収録する予定だ。

僕たちはフランスとスペインの"The Bells"ツアーの準備も始めた。この企画はビデオ主体なので、これらのツアーではビデオをたくさん使用するつもりだ。とてもグラフィックでカラフルになると思う。かける曲はパーパス・メーカーからの曲、プラス、オフィシャルにはリリースされなかった未発表曲も多く用意している。パーパス・メーカー・レーベル復活（？）多分ね。このツアーでテストしてみるつもりだ。

最近、DJ/アーチストのスティーブ・ビックネルが「最近10という数字にこだわっているのはなぜなの？」と聞いてきた。10周年のことだ。"The Bells"の記念とともに、"Waveform Transmission vol.1" というアルバムは15周年を迎える！　信じられる？　ベルリンのTresorレコードではインタビューやリマスタリングした音源を含む記念企画を立てている。グレートなプロジェクトになると思う。

今数多くのプロジェクトを検討中だ。ホリディ・シーズン中に何がベストかよく考えようと思っている。アクシスのサイト (www.axisrecords.com）も大改革予定。6年が経って、新しいテクノロジーに追いつかなくちゃいけない時期にきた。きっと楽しんでもら えるだろう新しいフィーチャーを考えている。

Well, as you can read. We were not successful in locating many of them in the time we were here in Japan. Time simply did not permit. It's a interesting quest that I'll reserve for another time in the future.

To conclude this post, I would like to say that from what we all experienced here was not...........typical. Something impressional happened. We won't be able to really know how much it affected the people that were on the dancefloor but, from what I could see, anything with that much intensity and percision has to be felt physically and mentally. It was a special kind of contact that I wish I could experience over and over again. We keep this blog active in the months to come. Upon our return back to Chicago (Nov 3), we began the production and coordination for the 10 year anniversary of the track "The Bells".
It'll be a CD/DVD format that will include videos and remixes. Starting in France in January, we'll bring "The Bells" project to Europe.

さて、読んでもらったとおり。日本滞在中、僕らは"Looking For The Perfect Beat"にふさわしい場所をさがすことができなかった。単に時間がなかったとも言える。面白い企画なので将来のために温存しておきたいと思う。

最後に、今回経験したことすべては・・・・典型的な経験ではなかったことを強調したい。とても印象的なことが起きたのだ。ダンスフロアにいた人たちにどのような影響を与えたのかはまだわからないが、僕が見た限りではこのような正確な緊張感は、肉体的にも精神的にも何か影響を与えると思う。僕は何度でも体験したいようなコンタクトだった。ブログは引き続き続けるつもりだ。シカゴに戻ったら（3日）、僕の曲"The Bells"の10周年記念企画をすぐに始める。これはＣＤとＤＶＤで、すべてのビデオやリミックスを収録予定。この"The Bells"企画は来年1月にフランスを皮切りにヨーロッパで展開される。
