Greetings from the Outer Limits. Our recent encounter hosted by Public Image at the Mado Lounge was successful. A large amount of information was transmitted and received during our first and very special contact. I greatly appreciate the attendance of　those who came and hope to strengthen our routine communications in the next coming 13 months.

Since the initiation of this mission that began Saturday, October 28, 2006 at precisely 06:01AM, I embarked on the first internal, then external journey into the Beyond. Mysteriously, this is a path that few in Electronic Music have ventured to. My objective is to measure and comprehend Infinity. Theorists refer to this as "The Light". Researchers suspect this "Light" is either the beginning or end of reality. A course was charted that have so far, taken me to exotic locations in our Universe like: Alpha Centauri (the oldest star in our Universe), to the Planet Of Saturn (one the oldest Planets), Mercury (in search of　water deposits) and the Sun (under the guise of Time Mechanic). This first part of the journey has been a spiritually moving　experience that words cannot describe.　I was fortunate enough to travel without disruptions and accidents to be able to communicate to you now. But this might change.

The next part of the journey has been calculated to be stressful, more hostile to the fragility aspect of the human mind and body in extreme conditions. To be able to work and continue our communications, I had to dismiss the human language and create a new method to communicate to you. Because of the extreme forces of Space, transmitting standard music patterns or structured compositions to describe what is being documented would result in fragmentations and unclear leading to misinterpretations. Our beloved language would not be good enough. This new method is modeled on the shape and character of encoded data, not music. The aura of sound, not sound itself. For this part of the Journey, special clothing has been designed by various sources that would allow me to manage and carry out sensitive task. Replications of these advanced wearable items will be on an exhibition display in the near future. Please watch for this in your area.

遠い宇宙の果てよりこんにちは。Public Image 主催のマド・ラウンジへの最新の送信は成功に終わった。僕にとって初めてのそしてとてもスペシャルなコンタクトで、大量のインフォメーションが送受信された。参加してくれた人たちにおおいに感謝するとともに、今後13か月に行われる定期的なコミュニケーションをより強力なものにできるという希望を強くもつことができた。

2006年10月28日土曜日、正確には06:01amにこのミッションが開始してから、僕は外界に向けての初めての精神とそして肉体的要素を追及する旅へと出発した。不思議なことにこれはエレクトロニック・ミュージックがほとんど経験したことのない旅だった。僕の目的は無限大を理解すること。学者はこれを「光」と呼ぶこともある。研究者たちはこの「光」が現実の始まりと終わりを意味するのではないかと推理している。これまでの行程では宇宙の謎めいた場所、アルファ・サントゥリ（宇宙上で一番古い星）、土星（一番古い惑星のひとつ）や水星（水の成分があるかの研究）、そして太陽（Time Mechanicとして）を通過してきた。旅のこの最初の行程は言葉では表せないほどスピリチュアルで感動的な体験だった。問題やアクシデントもなく、こうやって皆とコミュニケートができるのは幸運なことだ。しかし、この状況も変わるかもしれない。

次の段階の旅程では困難が予想される。究極の状況での人間の精神と肉体のもろい部分が試されることになるだろう。われわれのコミュニケーションを続けるためには、言語という手段を捨て、新しいコミュニケーション方法を作り出さなくてはならないかもしれない。宇宙の巨大な力により、通常の音楽パターンや構成で送信を行い伝えていくには、誤解につながるような亀裂や不明がでてしまうかもしれない。我々の愛すべき言語は十分ではないのだ。この新しい方法は音楽ではなく、コード化されたデータの形や性質を元に作られた。音自体ではなくて、音のオーラを利用するのだ。そして、この旅のために繊細なタスクを遂行できるようにいろいろなところで特別な服が用意された。これらの先進的なアイテムは近いうちに展示されることになるだろう。楽しみにしていてほしい。

Hello everyone. I just got back from Japan. I don't think I had a freehour the entire time but, we all had a great time there. My first DJset at the club Yellow was really enjoyable. If I could play that typeof music once a month, I'd be the happiest DJ you ever could imagine.Some of those records I brought had not been played since 20 years.While playing them, it brought back so many memories of when I was justlearning how to DJ. Thanks to all the people that came out to share thenight hours. I hope to have the chance to play there again sometime inthe future. Also while there, I played at the Nigisa Festival. This wasfantastic!. A very jungle-type of atmosphere that I rarely see thesedays since Electronic Music became "homogenized" and "squeeky clean".It was refreshing to see people "let go" for change. I understand theoverall crowd was much bigger than previous years. And from a fewconversations, I'm informed that Techno Music is quite exciting formany people again -- this is great news. My next date in Japan will bein Sept. 06' at the Wire event with Takkyu Iishino. I had not played atWire for a few years so, i look forward to it and to play new thingsfor all the people again.

Next week, I'm to play a club in Chicago at the Sound Bar and willprobably use alot of the house/disco/etc. records from the Yellowparty. Hope to see the house-heads!. I rarely play in Chicago and lookforward to this party as it might give me more in-sight as to what theChicago scene is really like right now.

Things are going great with "The Bells" and "Blue Potential" DVD(s).Thanks to all those who have it. For me, The Blue Potential DVD isreally one of those unique defining moments in my music career. Whenmusic or anything audible can be transferred to other genres, it actslike a report card. From this experience, I will now move to exploremore abstract works.

ベルリンにて：

皆さん、こんにちわ。たった今、日本から戻ってきました。フリーの時間は全くなかったけれど、とてもグレートな時間をすごすことができた。最初のYellowでのDJセットは本当に楽しかった。ああいったタイプの音楽を月に一度でもプレイできるのなら、僕は最高にハッピーなDJになれるのに。持っていったレコードの中には20年間かけてなかったレコードもあったんだ。プレイしている間、DJを始めたばかりのころのありとあらゆる思い出がよみがえってきた。この夜を僕と一緒にシェアしてくれた皆、ありがとう。また将来Yellowでプレイする機会があると思いたい。

そして渚でのプレイし。ファンタスティックだったよ！　エレクトロニック・ミュージックが「単一化」されて「クリーン」なものになってしまって以来、久しぶりにみるジャングルのような雰囲気だったね。みんなが変化を求めて自分を解放しているのを見るのはとても新鮮だった。前年よりクラウドの数もだいぶ増えたらしい。聞いたところでは、テクノがまた盛り上がってきているとのこと。素晴らしいニュースだ。次回の来日は９月のWIREで石野卓球たちと一緒だ。WIREは２年ぶりだし、新しいものを皆のためにプレイするのを楽しみにしている。

来週はシカゴのSoundBarというクラブでプレイする。たぶんYellowで使ったハウス・ディスコなどをたくさんかけると思う。ハウス好きがたくさんくればいいな。シカゴではめったにプレイすることがなく、今回は今のシカゴのシーンの本当の姿を発見できる機会になるだろうし楽しみだ。

「The Bells」と「Blue Potential」のDVDは順調。買ってくれた人たち、ありがとう。「Blue Potential」は僕のキャリアの中で、ユニークで洗練された瞬間のひとつだ。音楽など録音物が別のジャンルに変換されるとき、それは報告書のような役割を果たす。今回の経験から、今後さらにアブストラクトな作品にチャレンジしていこうと思っている。

ＹＥＬＬＯＷ翌日、タワーレコード新宿店にてインストアイベントを行いました。
ＹＥＬＬＯＷ当日夜、成田に付いてすぐプレイ。朝、７時過ぎまで盛り上がったあと、仮眠をとって新宿タワーレコードへ。なかなかのハードスケジュール。来てくれたお客さんの中にも朝まで踊っていた人もいたことでしょう。来てくれた人、ありがとう！

Another project is called "The Belief System." It's a CDof new releases that I've been working on for since 1 1/2 years. Theconcept revolves around self-reflection. It deals with how I have beentaught and influenced to believe the things I believe right now.Somewhat an audio diary, it's quite revealing.

In these days, we prepare for Japan and the Nigisa Festival. It's thefirst time for me to play there - I look forward to it. I'm bringingquite a few new records and works by new artists. On the Friday beforeNigisa, I'll play at Yellow (another first time!!). I've been preparinggot this party for quite sometime (6 months). Searching out classicdisco, house, soul/funk and other things to bring. Should be a funnight. See you soon.

こんにちわ。しばらくぶりだけれど、皆元気だったかな。僕のほうはスタジオの内外で、とても興味深いことがいろいろ起こっている。数々の新しい企画の準備でとても忙しくしている。いくつかのプロジェクトはかなりの量のリサーチが必要で、構成するまでに時間がかかるものもある。すべての企画がユニークなものだ。ひとつはちょうど（フランスで）リリースされた「The BluePotential」ＣＤ・ＤＶＤ企画。80人のオーケストラと一緒にライブ・レコーディングをしたもの。昨年7月5日にフランス、モンペリエ市、Pond Du Gard遺跡で録音、録画された。僕にとっては1992年のUnderground Resistance以来のライブ・パフォーマンスとなった。来週、4月14日から19日までは日本に行って、渚とイエローでのバーティのほかに「TheBlue Potential」のプロモーションもする予定。

別の企画は「The Belief System」というもの。1年半かけて制作している新作ＣＤだ。＜自己投影＞というコンセプトを中心にしている。自分自身が、どのような教育や影響をうけて今信じていることを信じるようになったのかを探っていく。オーディオ日記のようなものだね。かなり自分をさらけ出している。

最近は日本、渚の準備をしている。渚には初登場。楽しみにしている。新しいレコード、特に新人の作品をたくさん持っていく予定だ。渚の前の金曜日にはイエローでもプレイする（これも初登場！）。かなり長い期間このパーティのために準備をしてきた（６ヶ月）。ディスコ・クラシック、ハウス、ソウル・ファンクなどなど探してきたんだ。楽しい夜になるはず。もうすぐ会おう！

2005年7月に南フランスのモンペリエ市近郊にある『Pond Du Gard』遺跡のユネスコ指定20周年記念行事の一環として、そのローマ時代の水道橋のふもとを舞台に、Jeff Millsが、総勢80名にも及ぶフランス・モンペリエ交響楽団と共に、彼の楽曲12曲を高らかに奏で上げた様子を5.1chサラウンド音声で収録。

彼がこれまで全身全霊を注いで築いて来た最先端の“テクノ”という形と“クラシック”というヨーロッパの美しいアンサンブルの伝統を見事に融合させた感動のパフォーマンスであり、DJ/ミュージシャンの枠を越えて、一人の芸術家として歩み始めたJeff Millsの姿と、彼が人類の未来に捧げた音楽が収められている。
